Community Garage Sale - We would like to Thank Holli Gee for heading up the 2023 Garage Sale. From everything we had heard it sounds like it was yet another successful year. As always we are looking for someone to chair this event for 2024. Don't hesitate with any questions by contacting us.

COP (Chesterfield Observation Program) - The Police Department is asking residents and businesses across the Township to register their privately owned surveillance camera systems. If an incident happens in the vicinity of your camera system, you will be contacted by our detective bureau and we will request that you review your video to determine if there is any valuable information. There is no requirement to give access to your video system to the police department. Click HERE to register. 


Chesterfield Township Ordinance

Listed below are common complaints communicated by residents to this board. The response has always been to call Chesterfield Twp offices at (586) 949-0400. The township responds rather quickly to these inquiries.

Parking on Residential Streets - Sec. 62-177 Parking on public roads prohibited. 
No person shall park or leave any vehicle or trailer on a public road in the Township when a snow emergency has been declared. Further, within two hours after notice of a snow emergency has been given, any motor vehicle or trailer parked on any public road within the Township may be removed by the Township or its agents.  

Sidewalks and Snow Removal - Sec. 14-226 It shall be the duty of every owner of land within the township to keep and maintain the sidewalk located upon the public right-of-way contiguous to such owner's property, or any other sidewalk located on such property of the owner that may be open to the public in the following manner: Item 3)  Free and clear from accumulations of snow, ice and water.

Trailer Storage - Sec 62-63 No person shall park or store any recreational unit upon public or private property in a residential area, except in strict conformance with the conditions set forth in this article. Line Item B) A property owner may obtain from the township a permit that will allow for the temporary parking of said recreational unit in the driveway. The permit will be for a total of seven consecutive days, with a total of two permits per year, per street address at no charge to the resident. A permit shall be obtained from the township clerk's department. The clerk's department shall notify the building and zoning departments that such permit was granted.

Pets - Sec.10-4  Line Item B) It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or cause to permit a domestic animal to leave, stray, roam or wander beyond the boundaries of the premises owned or occupied by its owner, unless that animal is under leash or other means of direct control by its owner or his agent. Sec. 10-6. It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any domestic animal owned or harbored by him/her to deposit fecal matter in any place other than the premises where the animal is harbored or kept, unless that fecal matter is immediately collected, removed and properly disposed of.
